Smart Tour Flow
At Purple Blob, we use IoT and artificial intelligence to understand how people move around Valencia and turn that data into useful insights for better urban management.
Different formats, same purpose
The devices used in Smart Tour Flow can be adapted to different installation requirements. Although their format and mounting may vary, all three perform the same function within the system.
Understanding the city before it becomes overcrowded
Smart Tour Flow is part of the Valencia City Council’s GovTech Challenges and aims to develop a tool capable of identifying, monitoring and predicting tourist flows.
The IoT layer collects information directly from the urban environment and turns it into actionable data to improve planning, safety and the overall experience of the city.

Smart Tour Flow combines knowledge of the urban environment, smart devices and connectivity to create an infrastructure tailored to Valencia.

Defining the monitoring points
Valencia City Council determines the final locations together with the team’s technical recommendations and manages the necessary permits for installation.

Preparing the devices
Purple Blob configures the cameras, integrates the corresponding artificial intelligence models, and carries out testing and fine-tuning before deployment.

Installing and connecting
LORIOT installs the devices in Valencia and provides the routers and LoRa connectivity infrastructure.

Turning detections into actionable information
The LORIOT platform centralises communications and provides access to dashboards displaying the information collected by the deployed devices.
